NEST to Google Frustrations

So I am sure this has been covered but Google really dropped the ball. I am fully invested in NEST and ignoring the fact that the alarm service is going away, the functionality in Google Home Versus Nest is laughable. I was paying for 24/7 recording which is not even an option in Google home. Now I have to run 2 apps to control my locks and custom PIN numbers and to view the timelines Because my old cameras are stuck in the NEST app with no real way to migrate short of a factory reset of the cameras and then adding them to Google Home. The real kicker is I bought 2 new NEST cameras that will not work with NEST? I do not understand why Google did not simply rebrand and integrate the NEST app features into Google home. I can tell you that using the Clip feature in Nest provided evidence to police for several issues over the years. I also used it to report how my deliveries were damaged when drivers threw my packages instead of placing them on the ground. I am not sure who made these product decisions, but they should be fired.

Hi Rrhodes,

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community. We understand that some of the features of the Nest app are not available to the Google Home app and we don't have any news to share about applying these. We're always looking for ways to improve and we'll take it as feedback. I'd suggest you send feedback to let the Google Engineering team know about your concern. While they won't respond directly back to you, this is the best way to let them know about this. You may try using the default video recording app on your mobile phone to capture the specific clip from your Google Home app.

Let us know if you have additional questions or concerns.

Regards,

Emerson
