Nest hubs not showing live doorbell feed

JoeS1

I have several nest hubs and a nest wired doorbell camera and 4 other nest cameras. All working for a long time. Out of the blue I keep getting offline notifications and no live camera feed on nest hubs. Phone apps work fine, recordings fine and other cameras work fine. Nest doorbell connects to very near WiFi access point. Something wrong with doorbell. I saw a set of previous posts from last year indicating an software update required but clearly this situation is well after that. Please help

@JoeS1

Have you tried shutting off the electrical circuit that includes your doorbell for a minute, just so the doorbell has to restart?

If that doesn't help, you could try the "Restart" described in this post: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9252162. Unlike a factory reset (described later in that post), you don't lose any settings.

Are your Nest Hubs and your doorbell and cameras still on the same Wi-Fi network, so that you can livestream your cameras on your Nest Hubs, just not your doorbell?

Hi JoeS1,

Uh-oh! I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your Nest Hubs not showing the live feed from your Nest Doorbell camera. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the problem:

  1. Even if the Nest Doorbell is located near a Wi-Fi access point, it's worth verifying the signal strength at the doorbell location. Weak Wi-Fi signals could cause intermittent connectivity issues. You can use a Wi-Fi analyzer app or the Wi-Fi settings on your phone to check the signal strength in that area. If the signal is weak, consider improving the Wi-Fi coverage in that area by adjusting the positioning of your access point or using a Wi-Fi range extender.
  2. Try restarting the Nest Doorbell by briefly disconnecting the power supply and then reconnecting it. This can help refresh the device's connection to the Wi-Fi network and potentially resolve any temporary issues.
  3. Ensure that your Home app and mobile phone is up to date. You can check for updates through your Home app. Updates often include bug fixes and improvements that can address connectivity issues. If an update is available, install it and see if it resolves the problem.
  4. If the issue persists, you can try performing a factory reset on the Nest Doorbell. This will remove all settings and configurations, so make sure you have the necessary login credentials and settings information before proceeding. After the reset, go through the setup process again to reconnect the doorbell to your Nest account and Wi-Fi network.

I hope these suggestions help you resolve the issue with your Nest Hubs not showing the live feed from your Nest Doorbell camera.

Best,

Zoe
