New subscription required for older version outdoor cam

Hi all

I have a first generation doorbell cam. Sometime last year the video history in nest app stopped saving and my doorbell doesn’t chime inside - only through my phone app.  I didn’t initially sign up for any type of subscription. I set up google home as requested.

Ive read threads from forums regarding subscriptions and just wanted to clarify.

Is possible to sign up now for a subscription for my 1st gen outdoor camera?  So I can access more than 3 hours of live video? if so how do I do this?
How can I get my doorbell to chime indoors as opposed to doing so all the time through my app?

Many thanks for any advice!

Perhaps you had the 30-day free Nest Aware trial subscription and it expired.

I don't know what you mean by "I set up google home as requested". Did you migrate your Nest Account to a Google Account? (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9297676?)

I'm confused about which doorbell you actually have, since the 2nd gen Google Nest Doorbell provides event video history for the most recent 3 hours without a Nest Aware subscription, while the 1st gen Google Nest Hello Doorbell provides still snapshots for the most recent 3 hours without a Nest Aware subscription.

Your doorbell should ring your indoor doorbell chime if it is correctly wired and the "Indoor chime" option is turned on for your doorbell. If you want to get visitor announcements on a Nest Hub or Nest Mini or other Nest speaker, you have to turn on the "Visitor announcements" option (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/7672451?).

To get a Nest Aware subscription, see the "Google Store" link in this Help topic:

See this posting for Nest Aware prices:

Note that you can no longer purchase 1st gen Nest Aware subscriptions; you can only purchase 2nd gen Nest Aware subscriptions, and that requires migrating your Nest Account to a Google Account.
