Outdoor camera won’t wake up

Redla

The outdoor camera is battery operated and it never picks up any movement when ppl walk by. I changed the sensitivity to max but nothing. It’s frustrating! I’m paying all this money for something that don’t do what it supposed to do

We've had a battery camera for almost 2 years now, plugged in with the optional power cable.  During the day it detects events as well as our older cameras.  At night it's not quite so good.  But if we unplug the camera during the day and walk up to the camera, it does not wake up from "Idle" mode to detect and record the event.  We're glad ours is plugged in.

Hello Redla,

Thanks for reaching out to the Community. I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your Nest camera. I'm here to help.

Let’s check the event settings for the affected Nest devices. You can follow this handy guide: Nest camera or doorbell settings. Make sure that “people” is set to on. You can also turn on “motion” if you want the device to capture all movements within its view.

Keep me posted.

I appreciate the help, MplsCustomer.

Best,

Lance
