Painting Power Cable?

I just purchased a black Wasserstein cover to better conceal my Nest Battery Cam. It works great! Unfortunately, the white Nest power cable ruins the idea. Is it okay to paint the power cable black, or at least the end closest to the camera that will be in view? Thanks!
