Push notifications

I am wondering why the nest app doesn't send me push notifications for everything I have selected. I want push notifications for motion. Especially when a vehicle parks outside or drives past my house as I live on a private drive. But I don't get them. It shows on the app as 'motion' but I never receive the notification, only receive random ones now and then. I get a notification every time a person is at the door but not a vehicle? The home app has a section for vehicles but the nest app doesn't. I can't seem to connect my nest hello to get notifications on the home app.

I don't know why you would only receive random notifications. However, the older Google Nest Hello Doorbell can only be configured in and receive notifications through the Google Nest app.

Hi DJ15,

Thanks for posting in our Community — let's get this sorted out.

A few questions: are you using an Android or iOS device? Does it happen on multiple devices? Have you tried switching from Wi-Fi to mobile data? Also, are you using the Google Home or Nest app?

The notification you receive will depend on the app you used to initially set up your Nest device.

You can check out this handy guide for information.

Thanks for the help, MplsCustomer.

Best,

Lance
