Wasserstein 3.5 watt connecting to nest cam floodlight

Is 3.5 watts of power enough to keep the google nest cam with floodlights charged?

Hi Terrynmaine,

Thanks for reaching out about powering your Nest Cam with Floodlight. Unfortunately, 3.5 watts isn't enough for continues power.

The Nest Cam with Floodlight is designed to replace an existing floodlight and requires a wired connection to your home's power (100-240V AC, 50/60Hz). This is because the floodlights, the most power-hungry component, use more than 3.5 watts on their own.
 

While Google doesn't publicly state the exact wattage requirements, some users report finding this information on a label on the back of the floodlight unit itself. You can check there if you have the camera already installed.
