Wired doorbell stopped getting power

Nosila

My doorbell was installed about a year ago and worked great. 2 days ago it went offline and nothing is working to restore it. There is no light on it when I push the rest button, so I assume it's not getting power. There have not been any recent electrical surges or anything to overload it. My other Google Nest cameras outside are working fine. Do I need to rewire it? Is there any other fix I can try before calling an electrician?

Thanks,

Alison

Hello Nosila,

It sounds like you're having some issues with your Nest Doorbell. I'm here to help you and get you back online! Just to clarify, which type of Nest Doorbell are you using? Also, have you checked to make sure the wire is still properly connected at the back of the doorbell? And is the switch to the transformer turned on?

I look forward to your response.

Best,
Edmond

Hi Edmond, thanks for getting back to me. I had an electrician friend look at it today and it turns out that the transformer it was connected to shorted out, so he switched that out and we have power back!
