Audio problems

Hi,

I posted this on the windows-forum, but  they said it's a Google problem, so I'm posting this here now and let's see what you think 🙂

I would like to stream my laptop to my chromecast, using the option in google chrome (I use the latest version 121). Unfortunately, in contract to my windows 10 laptop, its no longer possible to ony have audio output on 1 device. When I cast with chrome, the audio plays on both my laptop as well as my TV. Resulting in double sound, making it impossible to use. How do I fix this? I've so far tried ChatGPT and Gemini, both of which were unable to help me further. I have tried every sound setting on the windows 11. Mind you, the 5 year old laptop with windows 10 works just fine and automatically plays sound only from the TV. So the problem is not the old laptop, nor the chromecast, or the chrome browser. The problem lies with the settings on the new windows 11 laptop. Can you please help me further :)?

many thanks,
Luka

p.s. I tried to upload a screenshot of my laptop details, but Im not sure if that worked, so here in text:

64-bits besturingssysteem, x64-processor

AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS w/ Radeon 780M Graphics 3.80 GHz

Hi LHodak,

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. We’re sorry for the trouble, and this is not the experience that we wanted you to have. Based on your description, your Chromecast device is indeed working as intended. Although the Chrome browser works with Windows 11, a lot of users have complained about certain changes. I suggest you give our friends at the Google Chrome Help Community a shout. They may know a particular setting that can be toggled in Chrome://flags, or they may have a workaround for this. Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Kimy
