Audio to Denon AVR-3808

Chromecast connected to HDMI on TV. During setup tried 10 codes to communicate with Denon AVR-3808 but none worked. Seems only to control sound on TV. What are my options? How do I get it control, deliver sound to this Denon receiver?

I apologize for the late response, and thank you for being patient! Were you able to figure out that AVR connection? If not, I'd be happy to help out, as getting an AVR setup with a Chromecast can be a bit tricky. People usually have success by plugging the Chromecast into the AVR and then plugging the AVR's HDMI Out into the TV's HDMI-ARC. Give that setup a try and see if the problem persists.

Jeran, Thanks so much for getting back in touch and I may well reach out to you again sometime if you don't mind. For reasons I don't yet understand, I plugged the Chromecast into an HDMI port on my Denon but experienced problems. I have 4 inputs but the only one which seemed to work was the one I am currently using for my Sat receiver (which I hope to abandon). I just haven't had time to look into this further but assume I may have to configure something on the Denon receiver which I haven't done for years. I'll let you know when I get back to it. As you know it is an old receiver.

Jeran, Thank you so much for keeping in touch. I have still been rather busy with other projects but I do now have the Chromecast connected via the HDMI input on the Denon 3808CI. I don't know that anything was wrong. I probably just didn't do things correctly. The only question I have now is that when I set up the Chromecast all the codes to control the volume on the Denon were tried but I may not have done everything correctly. Do you happen to know how I can return to that directly? I don't want to go through the entire setup and a quick look didn't seem to lead to an obvious method. I did not spend lots of time. I can explore on my own but if it is something you can easily explain, that will be great. If not, please don't worry.

Jeran, this is a bit of an update. I did find in Chromecast settings where to change receiver codes so did get the volume control to work. Unfortunately I can now turn the receiver off but not on so suspect I may have to experiment with additional codes but I don't believe I need you to try to advise me at this point. I do very much appreciate your help and will reply if I think I need your advice in the future. Thanks so much!
