EXTREMELY frequently, I'll cast video from my chrome browser on my Macbook and Chrome will ask if I want the video 'optimized' (streamed direct rather than mirrored from screen). I always select yes, as this always gives a better viewing experience with higher quality/smother video/etc.
However, I will FREQUENTLY find that the feed suddenly stops the optimizing/streaming and changes automatically to mirroring - when there is no loss of speed on my network, or from the video feed/source. Often, I can get the feed to 'optimize' again by disconnecting and reconnecting to chromecast device several times. Other times, no matter how many times I relaunch the video, it won't again present me with the option to 'optimize'.
WHY does this happen, and is there a way to set things up so that if a site is compatible with optimization, the video STAYS optimized/streaming and doesn't revert to mirroring?
