Chrome cast remote not working and getting too hot to use once putting new batteries in

I have had my chrome cast for around 4 months now and it has been working fine up until now where I have put new batteries in and it started overheating to the point where after 5-10 minutes of leaving the battery in, it becomes super uncomfortable to touch and I have tried the pairing option but it does not work as the remote is not working entirely. If someone knows the solution, please let me know.

Try to do a Factory Reset on your remote:

Also, try a different brand of batteries.  I recently had a lot of problems with a device and it turned out to be a bad batch of batteries.
