I bought a sky blue Chromecast 4k in June. Within the last month or so it has started constantly resetting itself. I've tried unplugging it, plugging it back in, letting it rest, turning it off for hours--nothing is solving the issue. I suspect it's a heat problem.
The Chromecast is plugged into a 110v wall outlet using the supplied wall adapter. It is behind a wall-mounted TV but it has more than two inches of air space on all sides; it's not jammed up against a hot TV or anything.
I just had it reset after we had to give up watching a single tv show last night; we started the same show, got through that episode, and it crashed again halfway through the next episode. Total watch time: about 30 minutes. Hulu app if that makes any difference.
How do you even return one of these if the hardware is defective?

Hey there Zach Matthews,
I apologize for the late response, and thank you for being patient! Were you able to fix that crashing issue? If not, I'd be happy to help out, as this sounds like it would make for a terrible viewing experience. Now, when the issue occurs, are you able to feel the heat of the device? Is it uncomfortably warm? If not, what color is the LED light on the Chromecast when the crash happens? If the Chromecast is experiencing an error, it will appear via the LED light.
I look forward to your response, and if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know.
Best regards,
Jeran
