I recently purchased a Samsung cu7000 TV. I have cable connected to one HDMI port and a 3rd generation Chromecast (named Samsung TV) connected to a second HDMI port. Using my Google Home speaker, I can issue the command, "Hey Google, turn on Samsung TV" to turn on the TV - it successfully turns on the TV. When I issue the command "Hey Google, turn off Samsung TV" my Google Home speak says it's turning it off, but the TV does not actually turn off. I have checked firmware on both the TV and the Chromecast - both are current. Solutions? Ideas? Suggestions? Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Hi SLHenderso,
Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. The Chromecast device serves as a beacon for your Google Home Speaker when communicating with your Samsung TV. It’s a passthrough utilizing HDMI-CEC (Chromecast to TV) and local network communication (Chromecast to speaker). I suggest you ensure that it is connected to an HDMI port on your TV, which has the CEC. Try switching ports. It would also help if you performed a sequential reboot with all devices involved (Samsung TV, Chromecast 3rd Gen, Google Home Speaker, and WiFi router) to refresh them all. Let me know how it goes.
Thanks,
Kimy
