Sounds like it could be a faulty button on the remote, can you out fresh batteries in, use your phones camera app, and point your camera at the infrared emitter on the remote to see if it's lighting up? If it's constantly lighting up it could be something as simple as a slightly stuck button, try pressing hard on all the buttons to release it and see if the light goes off!
