Chromecast remote setup help

Love my Chromecast but it doesn't fully work on every tv device.

I have several tv where I tested it and everything works great. But in my eSmart tv (which isn't smart) I can't get the remote to control the sound volume or power! Tried every preset on the list and no one is compatible. Even thought there are dozens of brands there, it doesn't show eSmart in the list!

Did anybody had the same problem? How did you solve it?

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. There are hundreds and thousands of TVs, projectors, and monitor models from different manufacturers around the world. Even if not listed, some of these follow a particular standard. What you can try is trial and error to determine which brand or model may work. You can also search online for forums about users of these TVs, projectors, and monitors who found workarounds for getting them to work. But the possibility of incompatibility can’t be denied. Even most universal remote controls fail to control every brand and model, and the Chromecast Voice remote is not a universal remote control. Let us know if you still have questions.
