OK, let's back up for a minute because it seems like we're playing whack-a-mole. Each new answer elicits a new trickle of info that may or may not be related to your original question that was "Why does chromecast turn off every few minutes?". There is no setting for ambient mode on a CCwGTV that controls on and off -- Energy Saver option does that.
So, what device are you actually using? This post is in Chromecast with GoogleTV, is that the device we're discussing or is it something else? And when you say you're "usually casting from YouTube" how are you doing that and with what device? Energy Saver options are in settings on the CCwGTV that control screen saver options. If you're not using this device then all the guidance previously given is incorrect and would explain why you can't find it. The small details matter when we're trying to troubleshoot.

Hey there!
We haven't heard back from Anaguyana, and it's been a few days, so I'm locking the thread. As always, feel free to make a new thread if you have any more questions or concerns.
Thank you for all of your help on this, GothamNY!

Hey Anaguyana, absent more detail, my guess would be it's the power save feature to prevent burn-in on your TV screen. It's a feature in your settings that can be adjusted if the time is too short.

Thanks. I'll try that. It never used to do that it just started recently. I'll let you know if it works!

It's actually the ambient setting that comes on spontaneously after 3 minutes. Is there a timer that I can change?
09-14-2021 06:25 PM
No, there is no setting for ambient mode timing except for how long you'd like images to change. The only setting available is under energy saver and there you can set the time.

I can't find the energy saver. I'm usualky casting from YouTube on my android when this happens
