I recently purchased a Chromecast 4k with GoogleTV. I am trying to control my other equipment via the chromecast remote but keep being given the same: "something went wrong" error every time I try to add devices. I see that this has been an ongoing issue for many users. I have tried the officially released fix to no avail. (TV, Chromecast, apps and remote are up to date. Cleared Android TV Infrared app data. Factory reset. Reset modem and router. Tried connecting via 2.4 and 5 GHZ networks. Done these steps multiple times.) Very frustrating. Had a Firestick for 6 years with no issues other than starting to slow down a bit. Might just get an updated Firestick if this can't be resolved.

If I've updated to the latest firmware, then obviously not

Hi folks,
Appreciate your input here, @Carlos_rpg.
@AustinW, thanks for posting and for being a step ahead of us. We’re sorry for the trouble, and this is not the experience that we wanted you to have. Yes, this was one of the recognized bugs, and this issue did come and go until an intended patch fix was sent and completed around October 2023, although there are still users reporting this. Since you’ve already mentioned the troubleshooting steps you attempted yet it still persists, kindly fill out this form with all the needed information and let me know once it’s done so I can forward it to our support team.
Thanks,
Kimy
