I can't open the Chromecast TV remote list

Hello,

I recently purchased a Google TV Chromecast (4K) and made all the initial settings.

I verified that through the HDMI-CEC settings I can turn my TV on/off, but I cannot control the volume or video output.

I tried to configure it through the Settings Menu by selecting my TV Model (LG) but when selecting 'TV' to open the list of compatible models, it simply returns to the previous window preventing me from being able to select my TV model.

I tried restarting the device, clearing the Cache of related apps and reconnecting the controller again, but I still cannot open the Menu to select my TV model.

For some reason I can turn the TV on/off, but not control the volume. Could anyone tell me if it is related to a software error or if there is an alternative way to configure it for my TV?

Best Regards

Ivan Ribeiro.

Hi Ivan,

Thanks for reaching out, I'm sorry for the experience when trying to configure your Chromecast with your TV.

I suggest following the next steps below to perform a factory reset on the device:

  1. Make sure your Chromecast device is plugged into a TV and power source.
  2. On the back of the device, press and hold down the reset button.
  3. Wait until the LED blinks yellow, then white.
  4. When the light is solid white, release the button to start the factory reset process.

Also, please try to set up the device again, for your reference you can check this article to learn more about how to factory reset your Chromecast,  if you need more information about the set up process check this.

Keep me updated.

Cheers,

Jonathan.

Hi sicsacol,

After carrying out the process to restore the device to factory defaults. I managed to carry out the procedure to control the Volume and also the Video Output of my TV using the Google TV Chromecast (4K) control.

During the device configuration process, it managed to identify the TV, only asking me to complete the configuration process.

Thank you for the support provided.

Best Regards
