Laptop won't connect to any of my chromecasts. All of my other devices connect perfectly.

I've had 3 Chromecasts connected to 3 TVs for several years. None of them are new, and none of them has been disconnected from their TVs since they were installed. For all those years I've been able to connect to any of the Chromecasts using my phone, my laptop, my wife's name phone, and my wife's tablet. About 3 weeks ago my laptop stopped being able to connect to any of the Chromecasts. The other 3 can still connect to any of the 3 Chromecasts without any problem. I have checked to make sure that all devices and all Chromecasts are on the same Wi-Fi network.

Because the other 3 devices can connect just fine, and my laptop won't connect to any of the Chromecasts, I assume this is a laptop issue. But I can't find any setting that might have changed on my laptop that would seem to help with the problem.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Hi ckohlhaas,

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. Based on your description, it seems that your Chromecast device is working as intended, or else all other devices won’t be able to cast to it as well. If your laptop has a VPN setup, I suggest you turn it off in the meantime. You can also give our friends at the Google Chrome Help Community a shout. They may know a particular setting that can be toggled in Chrome://flags, or they may have a workaround for this. Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Kimy
