No sound with Chromecast with Google TV

I get no sound with Chromecast with Google TV, and can't find a setting to get sound.  I get sound on the antenna setting of my TV. The built-in help said to use the remote, but pushing the mute  or volume buttons have no effect.I tried other batteries.

Do you have any answer other than that the remote is defective?

Thanks for reaching out. Let's sort this out.

Quick questions: Is this the first you'll be using your Chromecast or working previously? What is the LED light status in your Chromecast Voice Remote? If this is a first time use, please set up your Chromecast Voice Remote buttons. See the steps here.

On the other hand, if this is working previously, please remove your TV and add it again under the remote and accessories settings then test. If the issue persists, please reset your Chromecast and Chromecast Voice Remote.
