Hello @Ghis17,
Thanks for posting in the community.
That's a good question. There can be some confusion about Chromecast and Google accounts. Here's how it works:
Chromecast and Wi-Fi:
- You can definitely have two Chromecasts connected to the same Wi-Fi network, even if they're linked to different Google accounts. This is perfectly normal and allows you to cast to either Chromecast from any device on the network.
Google Account and Chromecast:
- You typically only need to set up a Chromecast with one Google account during the initial setup process. This account is used for things like personalized recommendations or accessing specific streaming services.
Multiple Chromecasts and Accounts:
- While one Chromecast is initially linked to a single Google account, you can cast to it from any device on the network, regardless of the device's Google account.
- If you have multiple Chromecasts, you can set them up with different Google accounts if you prefer, but it's not necessary for basic functionality.
So, in your case:
- Having two phones and two Chromecasts on the same Wi-Fi network is perfectly fine.
- You don't need a separate Google address for each Chromecast unless there's a specific reason you want them linked to different accounts (e.g., separate personalized recommendations).
Please let me know if you have any other questions about using multiple Chromecasts or Google accounts.
All the best,
Jorge.
