Still Can't Switch Child Profiles Without Adult PIN

When is Google going to actually make Chromecast work for families? This is still an issue. @timnolte @ https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Chromecast/Can-t-Switch-Child-Profiles-without-Adult-PIN/m-p/...

Does no one have multiple children? Part of my reason for posting is to also see if someone has figured out some solution.

Hey there timjnolte,

Technically, this is an intended feature from Google, but I can understand why some folks wouldn't want this to be the case. Submitting feedback regarding this is letting Google know that you'd like to see this changed in the future, and the more feedback they receive, the more likely they are to prioritize it. For the time being, the best workaround is to combine the children's profiles into one.

I hope this helps, and if you have any other questions or concerns, please let me know.

Thank you,
Jeran

Combining profiles into 1 isn't possible when it comes to having children of different ages, in addition to them having individual email accounts and being managed under Family Link. If Google is really serious about doing anything for families they need to bring all of this together in a holistic way so things actually work together like they should. What is the expectation that everyone of my kids has their own personal Chromecast/TV, that's just stupid thinking.

Hey there timjnolte,

I totally understand where you are coming from, and I personally agree that being able to switch between the Kid's Accounts should not require an adult's PIN. If you haven't already, I highly recommend submitting feedback to let Google know. I'll go ahead and do that as well.

In the meantime, is there anything else I can address today?

Best regards,

Jeran

Hey there timjnolte,

No problem at all; I appreciate you doing that! Like I mentioned earlier, the more feedback Google receives regarding a particular feature, the more likely they are to prioritize it. In the meantime, unless you have any further questions, I'll go ahead and lock the thread in 24 hours.

I hope you have a good one!

Best regards,
Jeran
