Hello,

Just got a new chromecast with android tv and once connected the tv shows red background and the screen is fuzzy. I already tried to change hdmi's ports and made sure that I have good picture ehen connecting the TV to other sources.

Any idea?

Thanks!

Hey Ziv,

Thanks for reaching out to the Chromecast Community forum and thanks for being a step ahead of us.

What's the make and model of your TV? Please try the additional steps below:

  1. Try unplugging, then re-plugging the Chromecast into the same HDMI port, making sure the connector is plugged all the way in.
  2. Try using the Chromecast with another TV/HDMI display, if possible.
  3. If the issue is reproduced on all HDMI ports, it’s likely that your TV make and model is not compatible with Chromecast. Please contact your TV manufacturer, they may be able to help fix the issue.

Thanks,

Jennifer

Did you ever get to the bottom of this. I have the same issue. When I first brought it worked fine and then one day it stopped working and displayed the crazy red haze. Just replaced with a different google tv and get the same issue.  Not good Google, had to go back to my standard chrome cast

Hi Ossiejam,

Have you had the chance to try the steps above? If so, how was it?

Hi,
I did managed to solve it eventually.

I went over all chrome display options and turn ON\OFF all of them.
At some point, once I turn off one of them, it suddenly fixed.
I will post the exact one once I'll be next to my TV again.

Best,

Ziv
