Not able to cast from phones both Apple and Android onto a Chrom supported device. Receiving the error "Untrusted device. _______ couldn't be verified. This could be caused by outdated device firmware."

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. You must be using an older version of Chromecast device that wasn’t used for a period of time. You need to get its latest firmware. I suggest you do a full clean-up by performing a factory reset. Reinstall the Google Home App on your phone and set everything up from scratch. You’ll notice that it will do the update once you pass the part of connecting it to Wi-Fi, and it might take some time depending on how long it hasn't been used. After the update, you can complete the setup. Let us know how it goes.
