volume on Chromecast remote

The volume on my Chromecast remote maxes out at 25.  It's nearly silent at 20.  How can I set the remote volume to go beyond 25?

Hello @mackjr,

I definitely understand your concern about the volume that you are trying to reach; unfortunately, the Chromecast remote itself might not have a way to go beyond the volume level of 25. This limitation is likely set within the Chromecast system itself. Here are a couple of things you can try to get your Chromecast louder:

  1. Turn Up Chromecast Volume in App: You can try adjusting the Chromecast volume through the Google Home app on your phone or tablet. Open the app, select your Chromecast device, and then adjust the volume slider. This might offer a wider range than the physical remote.

  2. Adjust TV Volume: The Chromecast volume control works in conjunction with your TV's volume. Try turning up the TV volume itself. You might find that even though the Chromecast remote goes to 25, it translates to a louder volume on your TV.

  3. Check for System Update: An outdated Chromecast system might have bugs affecting volume control. Try updating your Chromecast:

    • Go to your Google TV settings on Chromecast.
    • Select "System" and then "About."
    • Look for "System update" and install any available updates.

Perhaps if that doesn't work here there are other steps that you can follow on this link.

Best regards,

Helio.
