Chrome cast cast from computer but not phone

I have an older chrome cast that setups up from my phone perfectly fine but then won’t cast from my phone but I can cast no problem from my computer.

What apps are you trying to cast from your phone?

YouTube and Hulu both have the local network on Google home also doesn’t reconoce the chromatic as connected though

Reboot the phone as well as the router and try again

I’ve already tried rebooting all three and doing a factory reset

Okay, so what happens when you try to cast from your phone exactly ? Are you on the same wifi network? Some home setups have two networks, one for 2.4 and one for 5ghz, is it possible your phone is on one network and the Chromecast and computer are in another?

So I turned off the 5 ghz so they are on the same network I know it just never shows up for me to cast when using any app on my phone

Settings, privacy, local network, make sure that the apps you want to cast with are enabled

I’ve already turned them all off and back in again.

Do you use a VPN, or did you ever, on your iphone ? If so it needs to be disabled.  Also check your wifi settings to be sure there isn't a private address option enabled

I checked for both of those and don’t have them enabled
