Google Home android update, stops location updating and device control

Anyone else seem to have problems with the app updating it's home or away location?
Since last update where the design changed the home app doesn't do this anymore

Also it doesn't show up as a shortcut in my phone's device controle anymore (Pressing power button long shows a menu where normally all home devices are shown and to control them), as if home doesn't pass on the info within the phone.

Already tried reinstalling the app

I understand that this can be confusing but I definitely wanted to stop by and see how I could help.

Hi Garret,

Seems to be a bug in the latest Google home app. Updating to the latest version kills the home away detection, even tho I tried setting all permisions, memory/ram and battery settings for this app so it doesn't get killed and can access everything and always.

Reversing back to version 2.48.75.6 fixes the problem immediately, and the home away detection is shown again in the activity overview.

Letting Google play automatically update it again to a newer version, and trying to set it up right with all permissions and settings... Same happens again and the activity overview stays empty

Here you can clearly see what 2 days Google play updated Google home to the newest version and when I noticed it and decided to reverse back to the latest known working version (2.48)

I apologize for the delay in this response, but I wanted to hop in here to let you all know that this issue has been resolved for Android users. You just need to update your app to the latest one in the Google Play Store.

This problem has definitely not been solved in the latest version. Tried it and immediately my away status isn't altered anymore, also I ln the home history no changes of phone location are noted.

Reversed back to the old version again and set the tight settings, everything is working

April 28 older version shows my phone location altering home status. After updating may 2, nothing happens, 2 may the only thing triggering the home is the phone of my wife who runs the old version

I have noticed the fix Garrett, Google Home is updating my presence when I arrive home now. I haven't been receiving the notifications like I was previously, but I also haven't checked my notifications and permissions.

Hey folks, 

Since it's been a while since this thread was last updated, we'd like to check if you still need help with this.

If you're having the same issue, please give these steps a try:

• Try clearing the cache and data of your Google Home app then, reinstall it. 
• Check your phone system updates.
• Make sure your Google App is updated.
• Try resetting your Google Home devices to its default settings.

Proble still not solved in latest version. In away settings of Google home it doesn't ask me to set up this phone as the location track device as it does in the old version.

Reverted to old version, immediately everything works and gets detected again as you can see with "phone location" under you came home message. Other triggers are from another phone with old version

This is really bad Google...
