Help With Nest and Google Home

Ok, I'm so unhappy with Google right now. Even starting this conversation you force me to make choices that are irrelevant.

I have my nest app with all my various products connected. And it's fine.

You then tell me that my Dropcam cameras will stop working and I buy new google cameras, because you made me!

I think that logically I simply unplug the Dropcam and plug in the new Google nest cam. No!!!

You  now tell me I can only use these cameras with Google Home App and and not the Nest App.... which works great!!

The Google Home App is impossible. How do I move all my products over to it? You are forcing me to do this BTW!! And there's no way to find and add products easily.

And no one to talk to.

I've had a great system that's worked for years and you are forcing me to change to something worse and getting me to pay for it. Seriously I'm about to ditch the lot.

@crosbeia

You can continue to use the Google Nest app for all Google Nest devices that are installed there. We are still using the Google Nest app for our older 1st gen cameras and doorbells even though we've also had to use the Google Home app since buying a battery camera in Sept. 2021.

Hi everyone,

@crosbeia, thanks for reaching out here in the Community. We hear you and we know where you're coming from. We understand that some features of the Nest app are not available in the Google Home app. The new Nest Cameras and Nest Doorbells are exclusive to the Google Home app because we wanted to create an integrated experience with your speakers and displays. In case you need to reach our support team, here's our Contact Us page.

I appreciate the help, MplsCustomer.

Regards,

Emerson
