My nest thermostat is stuck on software upgrade for days and it is not hooked to the internet. The second generation thermo came with the house when we purchased it and we worked it manually without hooking it up to our wifi. Now it is stuck on "updating software" and has been like that for a week. It will not allow me into the nest to settings etc. It has no reset button etc and I cannot get beyond that screen. Help
I learned how to reset it by holding it in for about 30 seconds and it worked. I have hooked it up to my private wifi and the stat works now. Now my problem is that I cannot get the entry key. I tires to find it and returns that it cannot get it. Could it possibly be because I need to reset it back to factory settings thereby erasing the previous owners data and THEN hook it up to my wifi? HELP
