Nest camera transfer to Google Home app

Some people have ability to transfer their Nest Cameras to the google home app. I don’t see this as an option?  I have nest aware subscription and would like to consolidate into google home. Any one know why I wouldn’t be able to transfer?

You have to join the beta "Public Preview" version of the Google Home app, and the Google Nest IQ Cameras and the Google Nest Hello Doorbells are currently not eligible.  We are not on that version, but here is the post:

Hey everyone,

@Caskeysc, thanks for reaching out to the Community. I wanted to check in and see if you still needed any help. Have you seen MplsCustomer’s response above? If yes, how was it?

Also, you can check out this guide to learn how to migrate devices to the Google Home app.

Feel free to reach out if you have additional questions.

Thanks for the assistance, MplsCustomer.

All the best,

Lance

I did enroll in the public preview, but i have not seen a prompt under favorites tab to transfer. Nor can i see anything saying transfer to google under the setting. Maybe it will take time to update. I know the doorbell will take some time and the protects. What about the thermostat? Do you know if the end goal is to have all of these products fully functioning in google home?

Actually i do see that my two cameras are Nest IQ now...

@Caskeysc

As the Nov. 29, 2023 post to which I linked indicates, Google Nest is so far only providing the ability to transfer 1st gen Google Nest Indoor Cameras and 1st Gen Google Nest Outdoor Cameras to the "Public Preview" version of the Google Home app.

There's no option right now to transfer 1st gen Google Nest Hello Doorbells, or Google Nest IQ Cameras (I haven't seen any discussion in this forum about this), or Nest Protects (there is much discussion in this forum about this), or thermostats (I haven't seen any discussion in this forum about this either).

Hi folks,

@Caskeysc, thanks for circling back. As mentioned by MplsCustomer above, only Nest Cam Indoor and Nest Cam Outdoor can be added once you join the Public Preview for the Home app.

Keep me posted.

I appreciate the help, MplsCustomer.

Regards,

Lance
