Nest "smart" lock and Google home

Bought a nest door lock and trying to set permissions aka access codes for family members but it's impossible to do.  Firstly in the nest app there's no icon that's supposedly there shaped like an eye to set passcodes for users. Also the users in the home app and nest app aren't in synch (missing some).  When I try and add a user in the nest app it tells me I can only do that in the home app and takes me there.  There's no capability to set user passcodes in the home app and I'm in an endless loop.  Meanwhile I can only open and close the door via the home app...... Not the keypad, and there's no way to set keypad codes.   Talk about frustrating.  I want to be full Google, have lights, cameras, speakers, thermostat, plugs and now the door locks.  The lock by far has been the least intuitive and most frustrating.  Has anyone gotten this to work or do I need to factory reset to set each time? Gaaaah

Hi I_playone_on_TV,

Thanks for reaching out to us, and I'm sorry to hear about the situation.

Nest × Yale Lock is only for Nest app. To create a new passcode for someone, you’ll need to add them to your Nest home. Then the Nest app will automatically generate a passcode for them. To lock with the lock’s keypad, you may refer to this guide

Let us know if you have any other questions. We’re happy to help.

Best,

Zoe
