Wyze cameras not playing on Google home or Nest

We just set up our new Wyze Camera V3 and Google Nest. The wyze camera's work when we go into the wyze app but does not work on google home on my iphone or the google nest. I have tried resetting, un-linking/re-linking and factory reset and syncing devices as shown on the other threads and it still says camera unavailable, can't reach this camera. What else can I try so it will show the footage on google?

I have the same problem. Really frustrating. Would rather have those feeds removed from my feeds so I don’t have to look at the empty boxes.

Thanks for sharing details about the issue. I know how important it is for you to be able to stream your Wyze camera to the Google Home app and Google Nest Hub. Let's try to get to the bottom of this. 

 

A few questions:

 

  1. How far is the camera from the router and Nest Hub?
  2. Have you tried using a different phone/tablet?
  3. What is the Google Home app version on your phone?
  4. What is the firmware version of your Nest Hub?

Hello. My cameras are very close to my hub and I use google wifi and extenders. I don’t have any other tablets or phones. I do have a hub max and hub and am unable to view feeds on iPhone or google hubs. Google home app version 3.1.108 and don’t know firmware version of hub I’m at work right now.

How far is the camera from the router and Nest Hub?

The Camera is on the other side of the wall from the router and the nest hub is in the same room as the router.

Have you tried using a different phone/tablet?

We have used both my wife's and my phone to set it up.

What is the Google Home app version on your phone?

3.1.108

What is the firmware version of your Nest Hub?

the software version is 51.0.27.523530146

the chromecast firmware version is 1.68.356352

I’ve had my Wyze account unlinked. I just added my Wyze cameras back to the GH app and it still didn’t work. Said that the camera is unreachable or may be saving battery. 

We had the same error come up after re-adding it to the google home app. We also tried resetting the google nest and it didn't change anything. It still will not load the feed from the camera

I have this same error and it is NOT a sync with Wyze issue or a setup issue. And the camera shows up in home but won’t stream. Yet it streams in Wyze. 

Does anyone know if waze OG camera's are compatible with Google nest? 

I don't think my nest hub has had the update pushed to it yet. Is there a way to manually update the device? I can only see information on it automatically updating. 
There has been no change in the problem. We still can't see anything on our google device or the home app despite the updated version on the phone.

Any progress. We’re all still having problems.

It has been over 6 months since your post and many comments below have identified problems streaming Wyze on Google Home app. In my case it is not working on iPhone or iPad in BC, Canada.
Wyze has posted that you know this is a Google issue and that you are working on it.  

Can you or someone at Google please provide us all with an update?

I do not have a Nest Hub. I am trying to have the Wyze cams stream in the Nest Home App on my iPhone & iPad just like the Nest cams do currently.    I tried to add a screenshot but I was denied. 

  1. Have you tried using a different phone/tablet?
    I have tried on 2 iphones & 2 ipads. They all work fine for Nestcams but not for Wyzecams.  My other Wyze devices work fine on Google Home app. Google Home shows my cams are attached but will not stream them.. 
  2. What is the Google Home app version on your phone?
    version 3.11.104 on ipad and on iphone  in BC, Canada
  3. What is the firmware version of your Nest Hub?
    I do not have a Nest hub.  I se no where stating that it is required? Is it required to stream linked cameras on the Google Home App?  If so, please provide a link to documentation. Thanks

I'm still having issues. Oddly enough, my WYZE cam V2 can display in the google home app no problem, but the WYZE cam V3, the latest one I've added cannot be viewed in the google home app. I've unlinked my WYZE account from google home, reset the app, etc and only the V2 camera is able to be displayed. The V3 camera continues to show as unavailable, even tho it is displaying the video feed fine in the WYZE app.

Gathering some information, are you in the USA or Canada? And are you using iOS or android device? Thanks

I'm having all the same issues with the new v3 camera. No matter what I've done with all the suggestions, nothing has worked. Ridiculous and I'll be returning this gift. I don't want multiple apps open to view multiple cameras.

I’m having the same issue with my new pan v3 cameras. Not holding my breath for these “community specialists” since it looks like they pop in just to ask if people are still having issues, then disappear…

Yep I've tried everything in each post, updated firmware etc....nothing. says can't connect or spins connecting until it times out. Showing correctly though in the Google home. Bummer

These cameras are just too basic to be used for anything more advanced than what you get from its own app. I gave up on them months ago.

Had anyone discovered a solution for this problem yet? I dismissed those “community specialists. I think those are just Google bots, They never offer anything useful except and asking you what version you're running, how long have you had it. I can’t tell where the disconnect is. Is it Wyze or Google?

Same problem with my Wyze Cam Pan.  Works fine in Wyze, I've factory re-set, unlinked and linked Wyze from Google Home app, no change.

No point asking google to help. Just spoke with support and was told “nothing we can do from our end” since the community managers can’t tell us.

My problem is similar but with slight differences. All 9 of my Wyze cams (V1, V2 & V3) work fine in the Wyze app AND my Google Nest, but don't work in my Google Home app on iOS OR in my Sony Bravia TV with Google TV OS.  I've tried all the unlinking / resetting stuff and all devices are running the latest OS's and firmware. In the Home app I get the "camera is unreachable or may be saving battery" message but on Google TV it just has a spinning circle and never loads. Oh, and they used to work fine in the Google Home app. The TV was just installed yesterday so I don't have any previous experience with that one.

Same with me. I have 4 Wyze cameras (two V2, two V3) which *used to* display the camera feed in my Google Home app along with the feed from my Nest cameras. Some time ago, the Wyze camera feeds stopped appearing and it will only say "Live video unavailable. The camera may be unavailable or saving battery." even though the video appears fine in the Wyze app.

Have tried unlinking and relinking Wyze account, reinstalled cameras, reinstalled apps, etc but no avail. Interestingly...all other Wyze products work fine in the Google Home app (lights, plugs, etc) but camera feeds haven't worked in months. Feels like someone decided they didn't want these products to be compatible anymore and glitched it.

I just spoke to a Wyze customer service rep, and they advised that Wyze cameras will not live stream on Google Home. There is no compatibility to do so. 

I’m having all the same issues with the cameras I just bought. Bummed to hear they don’t live stream on the google home app. Did you ask why it’s advertised on the box then that it is comparable with google home?

I did. Google support said it is an issue with Wyze and there is nothing they can do. I asked if they could have Wyze remove the "works with Google" from the packaging. Never received a response.
