Hello
I just connected up 16 2nd gen Smoke/CO detectors by building two homes in my Nest App. One home has 10, the other has 6. I read somewhere that if one detectors sounds off in one home, the other alarms won't go off in the 2nd home. Is this true? I have a house with an in-law setup and that is why I have set it up with two homes, but I want all alarms to sound if one goes off.
Do I have to reset the 6 alarms and add them to the home with 10 so all alarms will sound if one goes off? (They are all hard wired electrically). If possible I would like to keep them split up because I understand you can only have 18 alarms in one home, and I may want to add a few more later.
Thanks
Bob

An alarm will only sound on Nest Protects in the same home structure. If you want all the devices to sound an alarm, you would need to place them all in the same home structure. Note there is a hard limit of 18 Nest Protects per Home structure.
