Nest Protects P007 (3.9) error won't connect to Eero

I had 3 Nest Protects that worked fine connected to wifi Eero router. Added a 4th and they all went offline. Removed them all from network but now I can't add them to Nest Hope app because when it asks for wifi password, i get the "Something went wrong" message with P007 (3.9) error code.

Disconnected router and re-started. Deleted app and re-signed in. Changed batteries -- but nothing works. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Just out of random curiousty...

Do you have any kind of firewall when connecting to the network that may be blocking it from being connected?

If you do, try disabling the firewall temporarily to see if it is blocking the connection or try connecting the nest protect to a separate wifi network to see if that solves the issue.

Other potential fixes:

  • Ensure you have a strong wifi signal - if a weak signal is found, try setting the device up where the network is strongest.
  • Reinstalling the nest app

Those could work, but if your still having issues let me know. If I can find anything on forms about the issue I'll post the form to the solution.

@Autumn Thanks -- but I don't have a firewall, and my wifi signal is at 50mps. Tried reinstalling the Nest app, changed Protect batteries, and they still won't connect.  Strange since they all connected before.

Hi folks,

Thanks for chiming in, @code_

@BlueBuddha88, yikes! I'm sorry to hear that Nest Protect won't connect to your router. Follow these (skip the ones you already did):

  1. Make sure Bluetooth is on. Toggle the Bluetooth off, then back on to refresh the connection.
  2. Put the mobile device on airplane mode, then turn on Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
  3. Restart the phone or tablet.
  4. Move all devices being used for pairing closer to the router.
  5. Restart the router.

Let us know how it goes.

Best,

Zoe
