Nest camera history, window/door security tabs, and smoke alarms.

I have a Nest Secure system and smoke alarms, and window/door security alarms all throughout my home. I successfully migrated my secure motion detection system from Nest to ADT per the forewarned shutdown. I also can view current activity for my cameras on the Google Home app, as well as control my Nest thermometer. But what about the history I used to see on my cameras on the Nest app? That's nowhere to be found. Will I still see that on the Nest App after April? And what about the smoke alarms? Where will I see them? And the white tabs on my doors and windows, will they still work? I asked ADT about my cameras. They told me I can't migrate them. I need to buy all new cameras from them. Is that right? That sucks. Is the same thing true about the security tabs on the doors and windows? I have a lot of questions as you can see. I'm trying to go with the flow but I hit a wall and there is no one to speak with.

@DavidSFO

We have numerous 1st gen Google Nest cameras and doorbells installed in the Google Nest app, and we still have access to that, with history in the Google Nest app and on the home.nest.com website, and nothing is changing for those in April 2024. (We also have a couple of 2nd gen cameras, so we also use the Google Home app.).Nest Protects still work only in the Google Nest app. I can't speak to your "white tabs", as we don't have those.

Thanks for this insight. I had the impression that the Nest app is going away. That's good news that it isn't because it is a superior product to the Google Home app. When it was all in one place it sure was much simpler. Now it's a bit of a Frankenstein's monster. I'll have to use ADT's app for one thing, Nest app for most things, and perhaps Google Home for some new products I may add.

Hello everyone,

@DavidSFO, thanks for reaching out here in the Community. You're right with your understanding. You can still use your Nest Protect through the Nest app and view your event history with your 1st gen Nest Cameras. We also appreciate your thoughts and insight about this concern. Let us know if you have additional questions.

I appreciate the help, MplsCustomer.

Regards,

Emerson
