Constant restarts and battery drain

Jamesg
Community Member

I've had the nest since early 2020. Now my device loses wifi, restarts every 15 to 20 minutes, and batteries are drained after about 36 hours. Tech support suggests installing Nest Power Connector.  Anyone else have experience like this?

Whats the current voltage?  If its always running low then that could have killed the battery life for sure.  With a C wire or the power connector you wouldnt have this issue, however if the battery is already gone bad then it may be too late.

The battery voltage is 3.196V, 977mOhm

Under the power info option it reads Vin: 30.472

If you have the Google Nest Thermostat (2020) and don't have a C wire connected, it means you need to connect one, and the Nest Power Connector is the easiest way if you don't have a spare wire.

How do you have it wired?

Hey Jeran.

Thanks for reaching out

I installed the nest power connector but the thermostat is now stuck in cyclical restarts. I have no idea what to do next
