Google Nest Setup - code not working

Hello- I installed my new Gen 3 Google Nest yesterday and have been trying to get it to connect to my account with no luck. I have tried everything that I have found online - restarting my router, downloading Google home and trying to set it up there, checking on both my WiFi networks,.. nothing. I keep getting a message that it’s the wrong code. And then it clearly shows that I should put in the 6 digit code below the QR code. I’m at a completely loss and ready to reinstall my old thermostat before it’s 100 degrees in my house. Any help would be seriously appreciated.

No I haven’t gotten any help unfortunately

@Ckidwell0 — I apologize if you have to go through this. We'd like you to have a better experience! Have you had the chance to use a different phone to connect to your Nest Thermostat, to see if you'll get the same results? Also, use Nest App if you have a Nest Learning Thermostat 3rd generation for the setup.

 

@Cashab — Sorry to hear that you're also having issue but I definitely wanted to stop by and see how I could help. 

 

Could you give these steps a try?

 

  1. If you haven't added your Nest Thermostat yet, do it without WiFi & Nest App option.
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions until you reach the Finish Setup.
  3. Once finished. Reconnect to your WiFi network by going to Settings > Network.
  4. Then, Settings > Nest App > QR code/Entry Key.
  5. Open the Nest App and add product. Follow this link for your guide.

Hi Mark, I was able to get a customer help number for Nest from someone. They helped me troubleshoot over the phone and finally got it working. Thanks!
