Check the breaker? Make sure it hasn’t tripped. Reset system turn off then power back up.

Hi @AdventuresThatR,

Thank you for reaching out to the community. I'm sorry to hear that the heating, set at 68 degrees, isn't able to kick on even when your room temperature is 54 degrees. I’d be happy to help!

To better assist you, I'd like to ask the following:

  • What is the model of your Nest thermostat? Here’s a helpful article about how to identify your thermostat model.
  • Is the Nest thermostat newly installed? If not, did heating ever work with the Nest thermostat?
  • Does the thermostat screen indicate that it’s actively calling for heating?
  • What type of HVAC system do you have (conventional or heat pump)?
  • Would you mind sharing a picture of your current wiring installation?

In the meantime, I'd suggest the following steps:

  • Check the air filter. Your HVAC system requires good airflow to operate properly. A clogged or dirty air filter can prevent the HVAC system from activating.
  • Ensure the wires are fully inserted into the terminal and the connector buttons are securely pushed down. This guarantees proper wire connections. I also recommend cleaning the wires with a paper towel, as dust can sometimes prevent the base from recognizing the wires. You can check out this article for more information: Troubleshoot strange heating or cooling behavior. Important: Before touching any wires, turn off the power to your HVAC system at the breaker box.
  • Then, check the power readings by going to Settings > Technical Info or Equipment > Power or Power Info on your Nest thermostat and provide me with the VOC, VIN, and IIN values. Some options can vary depending on the thermostat model.

I also appreciate your input, @Leftplate.

Please keep me posted.

Best regards,

Jenniffer
