Internet restart

My nest thermostats disconnects a couple times per week.  It does not reconnect automatically, I have to manually restart it every time.  Batteries are new and there is a “C” wire connected.  Could this be cause by too low of bandwidth?  My speed is 6.75mbs.  That’s all I can get in my area. (My upload is .75 of a meg).

I believe this issue is wireless interference. Do you have a lot of devices connected to your WiFi, are there any other smart devices connected to the WiFi near your thermostat?

Hi there,

@ThebigD, I'm sorry to hear that your thermostat won't stay connected to your Wi-Fi network.

Let's sort this out:

  • How far is your Nest Thermostat from the router?
  • Are there devices or appliances (such as baby monitors, microwaves, cordless phones, etc.) near your thermostat? Those devices could interfere with the Wi-Fi or Bluetooth signal.
  • If your Wi-Fi router is dual-band (supports both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz signals), your Nest Thermostat may connect to one band better than it connects to the other band, depending on your surroundings. Do you know which channel it was connected to?

I'm looking forward to your response.

Thank you @eveluna for your help.

Regards,

Jenelyn
