I have to replace my thermostat batteries once a month. Is this normal? Also I can’t seem to create a schedule. My heat keeps turning off. Is there a live person who can help?

also I am paying for Nest Aware but can’t see my cameras or thermostat on the App. I can only see it on Google Home.

any insights?

@Faulknsa

I can't answer your question on thermostat batteries.

If you have the "Nest Thermostat", it gets installed in the Google Home app and is NOT visible in the Google Nest app (while the "Nest Learning Thermostat" and "Nest Thermostat E" get installed in the Google Nest app and should automatically appear in the Google Home app). 2nd gen Google Nest cameras and doorbells get installed in the Google Home app and are NOT visible in the Google Nest app. A 2nd gen (since 2020) "Nest Aware" or "Nest Aware Plus" subscription collects video history for all 1st gen and 2nd gen Google Nest cameras and doorbells in the same Google Nest "home/structure".

Hi folks,

Thanks for chiming in, @MplsCustomer

@Faulknsa, uh-oh! Replacing thermostat batteries once a month is not normal and suggests that there may be an issue with your thermostat or the batteries themselves. Typically, thermostat batteries last much longer, often several months to a year or more, depending on usage.

Ensure that you are using high-quality, fresh batteries in your thermostat. Use only high-quality 1.5 V AAA alkaline batteries from a known manufacturer. Low-quality or old batteries may not provide sufficient power and may drain quickly. Over time, dirt or corrosion can accumulate on the battery contacts, leading to poor connection and increased power drain. Carefully remove the batteries, and using a clean cloth or cotton swab, clean the battery contacts inside the thermostat. Ensure that the contacts are clean and free of any debris.

Also if you can't see your thermostat and camera in the Nest app, make sure that you are logged in to theright account.

Keep us posted.

Best,

Zoe

I have only had the thermostat for 15 months. I have used both Duracel and Everready. It keeps turning my heat off and lowers my temp to 63. I have made sure presence sensing is off and tried to set up one schedule. 65 at night/70 day. I am very frustrated.
