I just bought a house and moved in last week. It has a Nest thermostat and I have no idea how it works. It complained about no internet connection. I watched a video about how to make it entirely manual. Now only the thermostat in the bedroom works.
my questions:
1 can I set the thermostats in the other rooms (at this point they just say Not Connected to WiFi for N days)
2 If I connect it to my internet is that all I have to do to control each room separately
3 not interested in an app I have to pay for that knows when I’m home and when I’m not. Jeeez. Do I need that to use all the thermostats??
4 if there’s a detailed manual can someone send me a link?
thanks.

The first thing to do is to factory reset the thermostat. Once reset:
If it's a Nest Learning Thermostat or Nest Thermostat E:
If it's a Nest Thermostat (2020 model), follow these steps:
Get started with your Nest Thermostat - Google Nest Help
Both the Nest app and Google Home apps are free and do not cost anything.
