Nest 3rd Generation Stopped Working

Installed this and it worked for 2 months, hooked up to a 2-wire heat system.  It stopped working saying there was not getting power.  So I removed it and charged overnight but now it won't respond at all, will not turn on after trying to reset it. Any ideas?  I would call a technician but since the device itself seems dead, aim wondering if they would be able to do anything.  Do I need to try to replace it?

Thanks for reaching out to us, and I'm sorry to hear about the situation. Let's sort this out. 

 

A few questions: Did you use a micro-USB cable to charge the thermostat display? If so, have you made sure that it is working as well on other devices? Is the power outlet you used to charge the thermostat display working as well? If you made sure that both the cable and power outlet are working, was there a light that blinks on the Nest Learning Thermostat display as you charge it? Also, for how long did you charge the thermostat display?

Hello,

I charged it with the USB cable/outlet, that works and charges other devices, for about 2 days.  No lights flashes or responsiveness from the nest.  Please let me know next steps.
