Nest Thermostat-1.4 shows Power Connector is "Connected" but still receiving error message

I had a professional installer install three Nest thermostats and the corresponding Power Connectors. The thermostats work great. When I raise the thermostat temperature above room temperature, my boiler turns on, and heat comes from my radiators.

However, I see this message at the top of my Thermostat settings: "This thermostat will work with your system, but it needs a Google Nest Power Connector or C wire to avoid potential power issues in the future."

Please see the screenshots below:

When I click on "Device Information", the Power Connector is "Connected." Why am I getting this message at the top of each thermostat's settings if it's connected correctly?

Hi unMattched,

Thanks for posting. Sorry to hear you're having trouble with your Nest thermostats.  Are you seeing this issue with all three of your thermostats?

It seems like the Power Connector is recognized by the thermostats, but there might be a communication issue or the C wire preference might be causing the warning message. I suggest you follow the next information:

  • Make sure the Nest power connector is connected correctly.
  • Restart Nest Thermostats:  A simple restart can sometimes resolve temporary software glitches. Try turning off the power to your HVAC system at the breaker box, wait for 30 seconds, and then turn it back on. This will force the thermostats to reboot.

To learn more about the installation of the power connector you can check the nest link: How to install the Nest Power Connector

Keep me updated on how it goes.

Regards,

Jonathan

Hi @sicsacol , thank you for your reply. I attempted the steps you laid out in your response:

1. Restarted all thermostats

2. Turned the power off to the boiler through the breaker

I took it a step further and reset all my thermostats, but unfortunately, I still see the error message for each thermostat in Google Home. I'm also getting emails notifying me that they're experiencing low power.

Please advise, thank you.
