Nest Thermostat not cooling on cool and vice versa

My A/C and heater works fine with Honeywell thermostat, and recently bought a nest Thermostat, follow all instructions but not getting cold air on cool nor getting hot air on heat. In fact, I feel the air blowing out is a bit cooler on heat mode.

Before uninstalled my Honeywell thermostat, this is the wiring

This is the new wiring on my new Nest Thermostat.

Please help! Thanks

I see you have 2 spare wires at the T-stat (these appear to be black and blue from your photo). Your Honeywell is running from the installed battery, but I'm unsure if the Nest battery is enough to handle the work (reports vary here with other users). Retired electrician here, and the 1st thing I would do to eliminate any hidden/other issues is to utilize the "C" wire to continuously power up the Nest. So, land the spare blue on the Nest "C" and then locate the blue wire at the HVAC control board and land it on the corresponding "C" terminal. Might be a good idea to reset the Nest and setup from scratch once done. At a minimum, this will eliminate any low power/battery issues that "may" be causing the problem. At least this is where I would start.

Of course be sure to power off the equipment prior to landing the wire.

Hi folks,

Thanks for posting in the Google Nest Community forum. I'd like to take a closer look at it. A few questions: what is the make and model of your HVAC system? Could you please take a photo of the wires connected to your system's control board? It will help us to identify if you have spare wires that you can use for additional power, as the Nest Thermostat 2020 requires a C wire or a Nest Power Connector. Also, please take a screenshot of your thermostat Equipment and System details.

You can follow the guide below:

  1. Google Home app and then tap the thermostat and then tap Settings .
  2. Under Device Feature, look for the Thermostat.
  3. Under Thermostat, check for Equipment and System details.

I appreciate the help, @Father_Guido.

Best,
