Nest causing heat pump reversing valve to click?

Sound of reversing valve

I recently started getting this chatter on my heat pump reversing valve. When I switch the nest to heat the noise stops. I have seen other nest owners have the same problem. Do I have a defective thermostat?

Hi Jiungerich,

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue with your system. I'd love to know more about this and I have a few questions:

  • What do you see on the Nest Thermostat when you're getting the click?
  • How is your Nest Thermostat wired?
  • What is the power reading of your Nest Thermostat? You can find this information by going to Settings > Technical Info > Power.

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks,

Edward
