Seeing a lot of information out there indicating the Nest is not fully compatible with this boiler. Just ordered a Nest and concerned I may not be able to use it. My boiler has an outdoor temperature sensor. Trying to save some money on my heating bill.

Did anyone get an answer to this question? I have the same set up and have manually adjusted my old buderus thermostat throughout the pandemic because it's been years since it reacted properly set temperatures.

Hi, several months ago i tried to post a sort of guide here I created. Unfortunatelly I can see the post was not somehow approved so not availble to others, dont know why.
Will try to search for it one more time. Main point of my installation is:
I made Buderus working with Nest for heating over OpenTherm several years ago, still in use. Hot water controlled only on the boiler (no remote/smart control).
My old U124 Buderus communicates out with any thermostat via iRT protocol.
Google nest thermostat accepts OpenTherm.
I was not able to find any converter directly from iRT to Opentherm, then my solution is:
Buderus boiler <= iRT => Bosch Easy Control Adapter <= EMS2 => Nefit Opentherm EMS Adapter <= OpenTherm => Google Nest Heat Link
Bosch EasyControl adapter: https://www.bosch-easycontrol.com/media/easycontrol-rrc2.0/easycontrol_adapter_manual_fr.pdf
Nefit Opentherm COnverter: https://www.plugwise.com/product/nefit-opentherm-ems-converter/
And I can see someone has documented this solution as well: https://medium.com/@martijnlentink/connecting-nest-learning-thermostat-to-an-old-nefit-economy-serie...
Good luck!
