Nest does not react when I arrive home

Nest does not react when I come home . I have set my Apple phone app to be the device which determines if I am at home or away. Is there a step by step procedure available to correct this?

Here are answers to your questions.

The issue started from the beginning. The Nest learning thermostat (NLT) has never reacted to my phone presence, in the App it always shows AWAY! In the App I can manually tell it I am Home, but this is not the way it should work, is it?

The only other device that should contribute to the home/away assist is my wife’s phone. This has the same problem, NLT does not react to either phone, so far as I can tell. We both use Apple iphones on the latest IOS, by the way.

I have checked that the three devices (2-phones, and NLT) are connected to the same network – our BT router.

Not sure what else to try, hence my cry for help! Happy to try anything you suggest.
