Nest thermastat not connecting

Same issue.

I have a Gen 3 Nest thermostat with a display that reports “Connect your thermostat to Wi-Fi to add it to the Nest app.

Pressing “Connect” results in “Searching”,  “No networks found yet”

Display “TYPE NETWORK NAME”, “Network security”, and “Password” results in the display “Failed to connect”

I have a total of three Nest Thermostats in the house. Two other Nest Thermostats are working fine, and are controllable with the IOS Nest App.

I’ve had the Nest Learning Thermostat gen 3 for 3+ years.

Setup=>network=>Does not list any networks.

Setup=>network on one of the other Nests shows a list of available WiFi SSIDs.

DISPLAY: “POWER” has “Battery, 3.926V“

I do have C wire.

I have charged it via USB

I have tried a normal reboot, but with no luck

I have tried network reset, but with no luck.

I have rebooted my router, but with no luck.

I am located in the US.

Hello Marina2002,

I'm sorry to hear that one of your Nest Thermostats couldn't connect to your Wi-Fi network, and I appreciate you trying to find a fix. Let's find out more about what happened.

To isolate, are you getting any message codes under the network settings? Also, please give these steps a whirl:

  1. Turn on your phone's personal hotspot.
  2. On the thermostat. Go to Settings > Reset > Account Connection > Reset.
  3. After rebooting. Try searching for Wi-FI networks again.

Keep me posted on how it goes.

Best regards,

Mark
