Nest thermostat won’t connect to WiFi

I am having a problem connecting my nest thermostat  to the WiFi.  A previous user had been using this nest successfully connected to WiFi- with the same WiFi network name and password.  They then disconnected from this thermostat and when I try to connect it to the internet the thermostat says the password has changed for the network.  Although I am using the correct network name and password.  Other non nest  devices have been successfully paired with the WiFi recently.  This also happens for the other nest thermostat in my house.

Hi carolineonastor,

Thanks for reaching out! I apologize you're having trouble with your Nest thermostat's Wi-Fi connection. Here are some troubleshooting steps that might help:

   1. Check basic troubleshooting:

  • Verify the thermostat's battery levels.
  • Look for any error messages or codes displayed on the thermostat screen.
  • Ensure you're using the latest version of the Nest or Google Home app.

   2. Check your Wi-Fi network:

  • Confirm your home Wi-Fi is functioning properly.
  • Try restarting your router.

  3. Restart your Nest thermostat:

Please let me know if you've tried these steps and if you're still having trouble. I'm happy to help further.

Regards,

Jenny
